Jill Baker C.Psychol, GAICD
Jill is a director of Baker and Baptist. She has over 20 years’ experience working as a consultant with multi-nationals, large national organisations and SME’s in the area of performance review and assessment of potential at senior management and board level.
Jill has extensive international experience having worked in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, latterly as Managing Director, South-East Asia for a multi-national consultancy group. Projects have given her exposure to many industry sectors including finance and banking, consumer goods, chemicals, transport, project management, technology, airlines, oil, construction and various government departments. Client organisations have included CSR, Alesco, Lend Lease, Reuters, Lufthansa, HSBC, Equity Trustees, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, LexisNexis, BAT, CSFB, DHL, Coats, Singapore Technologies, MTRC (Mass Transit Rail, HK), Petronas, Jardines, Ministry of Defence (Singapore) and the Commonwealth Government, Canberra. Jill is a Chartered Psychologist (UK) and holds a Masters Degree (Dist.) in Occupational Psychology, an Advanced Diploma in Finance and Accounting and is a graduate member of the AICD.
Jill Baptist MBA, FFin, GAICD
Jill is a director of Baker & Baptist. Her former career spanned more than 20 years in banking and finance with CSFB, Kleinwort Benson and Westpac in London, Sydney and Melbourne. She has worked in financial markets, credit, retail & commercial banking and strategy.
Senior roles involved managing significant business divisions, leading business improvement initiatives, joint ventures and turnarounds and advising on mergers, all of which required anticipating and aligning diverse stakeholder interests. These positions necessitated dealing with senior management across a wide range of industry sectors, and understanding the dynamics of various business models and strategies. Critical to success was the ability to form a view on the health of an organisation, its compliance regimes and its key areas of competence. Jill holds an MBA, is an Alumnus of IMD (Lausanne) and is a Fellow of FINSIA. She is also an active Director of two private investment companies, and a graduate member of the AICD.
